Gillian Jones-Williams

Founder and Managing Director

Gillian is the founder and Managing Director of Emerge Development Consultancy.  She is also an author, a motivational speaker, a Master Executive Coach, and a passionate supporter of Women’s Development.

Gillian was one of the early adopters of coaching in organisations and has co-authored 2 books on the topic – 50 Top Tools for Coaching (now in its 5th edition) and How to Create a Coaching Culture (CIPD 2nd edition).  She works with many organisations to support them in creating a coaching culture, particularly linked to inclusivity and engagement.

She also published ‘Locked Down but Not Out’ in early 2021 – a diary of the Pandemic and the struggle to save the business when Covid-19 shut down training rooms.  Thankfully Emerge survived the crisis and is flourishing again, and all proceeds of the book go to the bereaved families of NHS workers.

 

After working with so many amazing clients for 25 years at Emerge, she is still supremely passionate about what she does and she loves a challenge – working with boards that need to untangle their dynamics and get focused on their vision, individuals who need support with their behaviour or understanding where their careers are going, or organisations who are seeking transformation or culture change. She has led many D & I initiatives to help organisations strategise, but also in times where situations have happened that meant emphasis needed to be put on specific groups of people i.e. delivering Sexual Harassment training in the music industry, #BlackLivesMatter and more recently delivering Male Allies workshops for Women’s Safety.

Gillian is the founder of the award-winning RISE Empowering Women’s Development Programme, which is delivered around the world, including Saudi Arabia.  She was also nominated as one of the top 100 UK female entrepreneurs in the f:Entrepreneur #ialso100 2020 campaign, which is a celebration of inspirational businesses led by women in the UK.

In her spare time Gillian loves keeping fit, skiing, gardening and live music, but most importantly spending time with her children and beautiful granddaughter.

Rob Bartlett

Programme Designer/Facilitator

Rob is a consultant, programme designer, account manager and facilitator at Emerge which means he is involved in pretty much everything Emerge does, except money and dates!

Rob has great creativity and design skills and, with over 25 years of experience in creating and delivering training, he always brings his highly innovative and pragmatic approach to his design and delivery. Rob’s programmes include inventive exercises that are fun and challenging but always have a positive impact on the delegate’s learning. Rob spends much time designing and writing the courses that the Emerge facilitators then deliver to the customer or writing courses for clients to deliver for themselves. He loves producing all the support materials (including videos and e-learning), creating new exercises and questionnaires.

Rob-Bartlett

In the last five years he has become expert in creating short videos and blended learning using iSpring – this has been incredibly important during the pandemic. He is also the curator of our amazing Emerge Learning Zone where we store and administer our blended learning.

Rob is totally customer focused, and partners with our clients to ensure that the development interventions he designs and delivers meet the specific objectives and needs agreed.  He also takes great care in constantly evergreening material to ensure it is always fresh and up to date.

His areas of expertise include performance management, leadership, team building, graduate development, consultative selling, negotiation skills and leading change – but there are many more! In his long list of achievements Rob is particularly proud of his work with graduates.  He says, “Tapping into their enthusiasm and willingness to try thing out makes designing events for them an absolute joy.”  The fact that they enjoy his efforts so much is reflected in the excellent feedback these courses receive.

He has many qualifications including Strength Deployment Inventory, Belbin, Diploma in Business Coaching, RSA Assessor Award and is MBTI Accredited.

In his spare time he keeps the creative juices flowing by acting and directing with the world record breaking Southsea Shakespeare Actors. He also “enjoys” going to the gym and doing Park Runs on a Saturday morning.

Dawn Newson

Client Services Manager

Dawn is the mainstay of the Emerge team.  Having been with us for over 20 years, she knows everything there is to know about us!

Dawn is the first point of contact for our clients, and organises all the dates and facilitators for our courses.  She also oversees the course administration and logistics with her team and is our Office Manager.

Outside of Emerge Dawn enjoys spending time with her family, knits clothes for a premature baby unit and has been known to escape on one or two City breaks!

Steve Mustill-King

Global Head of Programmes

A consultant and facilitator with over 25 years’ experience of delivering successful leadership and management programmes for organisations at all levels up to the Executive Committee.

Steve has extensive experience of delivering programmes to large organisations globally and experience across a range of diverse sectors including Aerospace and Defence, Oil & Gas, Nuclear Decommissioning, Utilities, Logistics and Construction.

Steve worked with Emerge as an associate for over 15 years, before joining to take up the position as our Global Head of Programmes. He has developed and delivered courses in high potential leadership, strategic thinking, influencing, negotiating as well as project, risk and category management amongst others.

He regularly delivers programmes on leadership and management, transformational change, leading high performing teams and negotiating and influencing.

Steve also has extensive experience of delivering programmes in the Middle East and Asia which have won several awards.

In his spare time Steve is a qualified Osteopath who delivers lectures on Patient Practitioner Communication and Differential Diagnosis to students in Poland, Denmark, France and Russia. He has three teenage daughters and plays guitar in a 6-piece band.

Elle Jettson

Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI) Manager

Elle is a Learning and Development professional with both an HR and Events Management Background who recently brought her skills to our team at Emerge joining in March 2022.

Having worked in Events Management for 7 years, Elle took a career move into Human Resources 5 years ago and whilst working L&D found her passion for EDI along the way. Working on Organisational EDI strategies, Elle gained insight into the fast paced works of EDI including data diagnostics, employee surveys &listening groups, engagement campaigns and report writing. Since becoming a parent her passion has grown in empowering working mothers and encouraging organisational maternity support alongside all EDI topics.

At Emerge, Elle focuses on marketing, social media, content design, associate relationships, researching and anything else thrown her way.

Outside of work Elle loves playing netball, thrifting and vintage hunting, interior decorating and being outside in nature with her family and dog.

Marcia Wright

Finance Manager

Marcia joined the Emerge team in August 22, as part-time Finance Manager, she is the go-to person at Emerge for all things financial.

With over 20 years’ experience in Management Accounting within a commercial environment including a Training company followed by a worldwide Brand Management organisation.

In her spare time Marcia loves to spend time with her family and new baby granddaughter.  She also likes to stay fit and going for walks with her two dogs.

Nicola Masters

Administration Assistant

Nicola joined Emerge in Autumn 2021 and assists Dawn with the course administration. She prepares course materials, organises course and trainer logistics and schedules the virtual training sessions.

Outside of Emerge Nicola dedicates her time to her family. She enjoys crafting and going for long walks with her beagle puppy.
